The II XTERRA Kingdom of Granada will put the finishing touch to the XTERRA Spain Tour Extremadura 2015

The test will start from the Canal Reservoir and will move to the urban center, passing through the Alhambra

The second edition of XTERRA Kingdom of Granada (4 of October, from the 10 hours) will be the last stop of the demanding XTERUM Spain Tour Extremadura 2015 national triathlon cross circuit. After the dispute between XTERRA Axarquía - Costa del Sol, XTERRA Extremadura, XTERRA Basque Country and XTERRA Lozoya, the classifications of the different age groups are tighter than ever. The city of the Alhambra, the hard slopes of Sacromonte and Albaicín will act as judge to settle the champions of the circuit.

As in each test of XTERRA Spain Tour Extremadura 2015, will be disputed two distances: an Open test, consisting of 1.000 meters of swimming, 21 kilometers of mountain bike and 6 kilometers of running, and a test Championship with 1.500 meters of swimming, 38 of mountain bike and 10 of running race. The first of them is suitable for all levels and athletes who start in this discipline, while the second is one of the most demanding tests of the entire national calendar.

The main novelty in the second edition of the XTERRA Kingdom of Granada is that it will end in the urban center, specifically in the Paseo del Salón.

After leaving the Reservoir of Channels, the triathletes of the Championship test will pass with the bicycle by Pinos Genil, Cenes de la Vega, Plain of the Partridge, Sacromonte and Albaicín, a route with more than 1.600 meters of positive height difference. After leaving the bicycle, they will make a race circuit on foot with 500 meters of positive height gain in the center of the city, with ascent to the Alhambra and back to Paseo del Salón.

On the other hand, the triathletes of the Open test will complete a circuit of 700 meters of positive height gain by Pinos Genil, Cenes de la Vega, the path of the Bicha Fountain, climb to the Alhambra and down to Paseo del Salón. The walking segment consists of a route of more than 270 meters of positive height gain with a climb to the Alhambra by the lawyer's ravine, and back to the center of the city.

Everything to decide

Although the classifications of the male and female PRO category are within reach of the gaditano Gonzalo Orozco and Madrileña Natividad Gómez, those of the different age groups still have everything to define. Especially close are the groups 35-39, led by Manuel Hernández (227 points) and followed by Anibal Fidalgo (190), and the 20-24 with Alejandro Domínguez (380), who will come in top form after competing in the World Championship. ITU cross triathlon and Alejandro Alonso (332).
