The sentence of three years and three months in prison for running over and killing a cyclist is confirmed

The events occurred in December 2017 when the condemned man ran over a 32-year-old cyclist from Barrado (Cáceres).

In a first instance, the Criminal Court No. 1 of Plasencia sentenced to three years and three months in prison for a crime of homicide for serious imprudence, condemn that now hThe Provincial Court of Cáceres has confirmed.

The driver indicates the failure, at first refused to ask them. He tested positive for alcohol, cocaine, and amphetamines.

The events occurred on 20 December 2017 when the condemned man ran over Enrique Paniagua Alonso, 32-year-old cyclist natural of Barrado (Cáceres).

One year after the accident (before the trial was held) the accused started a detoxification treatmentn at the Extremeño Drug Dependency Center (Cedex).

Now the sentence of three years and three months in prison for a crime of homicide for serious recklessness, has been confirmed by the Provincial Court of Cáceres.

Furthermore, in concept of rcivil liability, must pay the parents and sister of the deceased 173.483 euros (The company and the condemned have already paid their corresponding part)

The accused appealed the first instance judgment alleging an error in the evaluation of the evidence, although finally the Hearing has rejected it.
