List of protected cycling routes 2017

The DGT has published a total of 138 safe routes with 4.661 km where from the 29 of July the speed will be reduced.

The general director of Traffic, Gregorio serrano, has presented the map of Protected Cycling Routes, one of the measures included in the Action Plan of the DGT for the protection of this group.

The selection of these Protected Cycling Routes has been carried out in collaboration with other administrations, institutions and cycling associations that, for months, have been working to strengthen the safety of cyclists on the road.

Each province will have three or four "safe routes" for cyclists except in Catalonia and the Basque Country because they have transferred traffic competences.
