The UAE Tour for the coronavirus is canceled, with some of the best runners in the world
Two Italian runners have tested positive

Suspended in the absence of 2 stages
The cycling event, which I gathered in United Arab Emirates to some of the best runners in the world, including Alejandro Valverde, Chris Froome, Tadej Pogacar or Adam Yates, has been canceled this Thursday due to the spread of the pathogen when there were two stages to be disputed.
For now, both runners and others involved in the race will have to pass controls to determine if they are infected and cannot leave their hotels.
Two Italian participants tested positive
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council confirmed that “two Italian participants tested positive” by the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19: “The decision has been made to ensure the protection of all race participants“. It was confirmed that they were two staff members of the UAE Emirates team.

Next week the first round of the Triathlon World Series will be held in Abu Dhabi. We will have to wait as the propagation evolves to see if the test is held.

Froome himself has tweeted from the hotel: “It is a shame the cancellation of the race, but the most important thing is public health.

According to official data, so far 13 positive cases have been registered in the Arab Emirates.
