The Galician Ivan Frog He has "the best Spanish brand" in an Ironman distance triathlon, he achieved it in 2014, in Klagenfurt (Austria) with a time of 7:48:43, which places him as the 11th fastest triathlete in IM of all time at that time.

The second position is for Víctor del Corral with 7:53:12 achieved in the Florida Ironman and the third place in this "unofficial" ranking would be for Javier Gómez Noya, that in his debut in the distance he stopped the clock in a time of 7:56:38.

Finally we must also quote Eneko Plains, fourth Spanish triathlete and first to break the 8-hour barrier. It was in 2011 at the Arizona Ironman and in 2019 he has achieved his best time at the IRONMAN Vitoria

Eneko together with Ivan Frog They are the only ones who have dropped 2 times from 8h in Ironman. Eneko is also the Spanish with the most sub 8h20. If the ranking was only of brands in Ironman possibly Eneko would have 5 or 6 of the best times.

We should also quote that Javier Gómez Noya is so far "the best newcomer" in Spanish Ironman distance, the only one to do so under 8 hours in the past Ironman of Cairns

On the other hand, mention that the best brand on Spanish soil corresponds to Miquel Blanchart, with 8:02:03 achieved at the Ironman in Barcelona last year.

To conclude, we want to invite readers if there is any error in the ranking and we are missing a triathlete who do not hesitate to write to us to solve it, since there are many races and many athletes. Thank you.

NOTE: When talking about "Best times" in triathlon, whether it is short, medium or long distance, we must always keep in mind that in our sport the distances are not approved as it is an Olympic swimming pool, a velodrome, an athletics track or an approved road race, therefore, is not correct to speak in terms of "world record" or the like. The end of the following article is merely informative since many of our readers like to know who are the "fastest" triathletes
