3.500 triathletes in the Nirvana IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca

3.500 athletes will participate next Saturday 13 of May in the VII edition of the Nirvana IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca.

The competition is consolidated as one of the most popular IRONMAN 70.3 races in the world. The test promises to be quite a show thanks to a large lineup of professional athletes who come to Alcúdia to get their qualification for the IRONMAN World Championship 70.3 that will be played this year in Chatanooga, Tenesse (United States) on September 9, 2017.  

According to Erwin Dokter, Regional Director of IRONMAN Spain: "The triathletes value Mallorca for its exceptional atmosphere, its pleasant climate and an ideal environment to combine sports and tourism. We are very excited and grateful to the Island, the sponsors and the athletes who make our event one of the most popular in the world"

The nerve center of this Nirvana IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca It will be developed as in previous years in Alcúdia, in the north of the island of Mallorca. The first section, swimming, will take place in the city's port. After that, the athletes will travel by bicycle through beautiful mountain landscapes full of ups and downs. The foot race runs along the beach of Alcúdia, ending in the finish area, located again in the Port of Alcúdia.

On the start list are professional athletes as the winner of the last three editions, Andreas Dreitz, the current winner of the IRONMAN Mallorca, the local athlete Carlos López or the British Olympic gold medal Alistair Brownlee. In females Laura Philipp will defend his current title of champion against athletes of the size of Emma Pallant o Natascha Schmitt.

The test held in Alcúdia opens the European IRONMAN circuit in a season that is more exciting than ever.
