Less than a month left for the new IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca
In just one month, the island of Mallorca will host the eighth edition of the world's largest IRONMAN 70.3, with 3.800 triathletes eager to cross the finish line . This spectacular triathlon will take place on May 12th in the town of Alcúdia, the center of attention for all.
Finishing the world's largest IRONMAN 70.3 is one of the event's biggest draws, but not the only one. The island of Mallorca is a training paradise , with a mild climate that's perfect for triathlon. It's an area full of countless roads for racking up kilometers on the bike, and beaches with azure waters for swimming.
After 1.900 meters swim through the waters of Alcúdia, the triathletes will take their bicycles to face 90 kilometers that promise strong emotions. An especially hard cycling circuit, marked by a mountain pass, and which runs through corners of the island of great beauty. Back to the Port of Alcúdia, the participants will face the last 21 kilometers of running race on a circuit to 3 laps that will take them along the Paseo Marítimo and the city center. A unique atmosphere thanks to the attending public, which will push you towards the goal.
It's no coincidence that the race has achieved record participation , as everyone involved in the organization works incredibly hard to make this IRONMAN 70.3 a success. "It's a pleasure to organize this event on such a special island, where the passion for sport lives and breathes like no other," explains Race Director Ferran Giménez.
Wrapped in the waters of the Mediterranean, this little paradise of nature will also be a gift for all the triathletes' companions, who "hopefully enjoy the tranquility of the beaches that surround Alcúdia and the picturesque villages that form the Serra de Tramuntana" adds Giménez.
Participants are expected to be accompanied by at least one person and spend a minimum of 3 nights on the island, 75% in a hotel. And it is that the IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca has a significant number of foreign triathletes, with the United Kingdom being the country with the most participants, followed by Spain and Germany.
