Alistair Bronwlee for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship at 2017

The main objective of the British is gold at the Tokyo Olympics, but he has two seasons to try the medium distance

As announced yesterday in an interview on the web of 220triathlon the double Olympic champion Alistair Browlee he wants to win the Ironman 70.3 World Championship and his intention is to do it next year in Chattanooga, in the United States.

Alistair has commented that in the long term his main objective is to get Olympic gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games but for that the path will start in 2019, so now has 2 seasons to compete in another type like the Ironman 70.3 circuit .

But before competing in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship the British have to qualify, for which he will surely need to run at least 2 tests before or win any of the 2017 continental championships, all before the July 2 which is the day it closes the qualification period for the world.

A few weeks ago Javier Gómez Noya announced that one of its objectives for 2017 is the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, a title that already won in 2014. The situation of Javi is the same as that of Alistair, since the Galician does not have KPR 70.3 points either, so he will need to qualify for the Chattanooga event.
