Ironman Barcelona changes date for the independence referendum

 The test will be advanced 24 hours and will be played on Saturday 30 in September. From next week will be communicated to all registered, 3.150 athletes.

As reported by radiocallella, the mayor of the town has confirmed the date change of Ironman Barcelona scheduled for the October 1 of this 2017.

The mayor said that the test and the referendum on the same day were unfeasible. Despite this change, the date of this referendum has been announced but has not been officially convened.

The General Secretariat of Sport of the Generalitat, the Catalan Traffic Service and Mossos have validated the proposal they have sent from the organization. Although on the official Ironman website it is announced for the 1 in October, they have indicated that the official communication will be made next 30 in September, 3 months before the competition,

At the moment, the heads of the Ironman division for Spain and Portugal have declined to make statements about it and have not commented anything about the return of registrations due to the change of date
