Clemente Alonso reappears with victory at Kalmar Ironman

Clemente has been climbing 8 minutes in the race on foot and has achieved victory.

Today it has been played in Kalmar, (Sweden) its Ironman test where the competition consisted of 3,8km of swimming, 180km of cycling and 42 km of running on foot. One of the most spectacular points of the cycling segment is to cross the Öland Bridge with more than 6km in length and to finish the marathon with its 42,2 km.

The test began at 6: 55 in the morning, where the fastest to leave the water was Clemente Alonso coming out with Danill Sapunov at the head of the race with 2: 27 ahead of Nicklas Yderhag.

In the 180 km of cycling route, where two different laps were made (one of 122 and another of 58 km where one of the longest bridges in Europe was crossed, the 6km Öland Bridge) the Australian Wurf Cameron was climbing positions to reach the head of the race near km 60 of the circuit, surpassing Clemente who was leading the test.

Cameron continued to increase his lead to reach T2 about 8 minutes ahead of Clemente Alonso and Swede Karl-Johan Danielsson, who practically got off the bike together.

Already in the 42 km of running a great Clemente Alonso was tracing time to the Australian to reach the 30 km of the circuit and leaving alone to get the victory in a time of 08: 07: 48, followed by Cameron Wurf (08: 08: 58) and for Esben Hovgaard (8: 25: 18) in third position.

With this victory Clemente Alonso can help Eneko Llanos (competing tomorrow in Dublin) already Carlos López in his classification for Kona, since he can subtract points from his direct rivals. In Ironman of Kalmar is a peculiar competition since today only the masculine professional test has been disputed, since Wanda-IM decided to separate some races by sexes. Tomorrow near the town of Kalmar, the Copenhagen Ironman, in Denmark, where there will only be category answer feminine.
