30 Names, data and places to keep in mind in this XXVI edition of the Club La Santa Ironman Lanzarote

In the following list we offer a list of different triathletes, places and data on the Ironman Lanzarote to take into account this Saturday.

 

1- The output list of PROs, seven winners they will be present, seeking to repeat triumph, something that in the men's category six triathletes have achieved: Eneko Llanos, Bert Jammer, Ain-Alar Juhanson, Thomas Hellriegel, Frank Heldoorn y Come, van Zelst. While in women the two-time Maribel Blanco, Katinka Wiltenburg y Virginia Berasategui . Above all / as the double winners "queen" Paula Newby-Fraser as the only three-time champion.

2- Spanish PROs: As we quote in an article previous, there will be 10, one of the most numerous representations in history.

3- El Club La Santa Ironman Lanzarote it will be the second "Monument of triathlon" to be played this season, after the Ironman of New Zealand that was held last March.

 4.- As always, the "father" of triathlon in Spain Kennet Gasque will be present at the finish line to congratulate and greet all the finishers of the Club La Santa Ironman Lanzarote.

5- Puerto del Carmen: Place where the finish line will be located, the transition area and where the swim segment will be made.

6.- National Park of Timanfaya, viewpoint of Haría and Mirador del Río, three mythical points of the cycling segment.

7.- Charco de San Ginés. This year the circuit of foot race has undergone modifications, I feel this point of Arrecife the farthest place from the finish line in the race on foot where the triathletes will have the turning point of the first round in the 15 kilometer.

8.- Athletes of triathletes: Lanzarote also stands out for being the only Ironman where the triathletes can cross the finish line of the hand of their relatives. A few years ago IM banned this in their competitions ... but in Lanzarote, thanks to the effort of the organization, in charge of Club la Santa, it has been possible for the family to accompany the finishers at the entrance to the finish line.

9.- There will be three paratriathletes on the starting line to face the mythical distance of the 226km, the German Antonio Muller and the Spanish Norberto Chávez who will run in the Hand Cycle category and the Spanish Javier Mérida who will do it in PC-Open

10.- Catalan Guillermo Lladó will try to get his 6º slot for Kona and be the first Spanish triathlete to get it in GGEE.

11.- Esther Lee will be the first woman to compete under the flag of Ethiopia in the Ironman of Lanzarote.

12.- Emilio Moreno López, participates taking with his triathlete effort a solidary cause, help raise funds for children with disabilities at the Gil Gayarre Foundation school, in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid.

13.- David Corredor, 3º in the Hawaii World 2016 in the age group 35-39 will look for its slot for Kona.

14.- Fatima Sanchez, one of the pioneers who takes more than 20 years in the triathlon and who was 5ª elite in the Cto de España de Posadas in 1996 will compete in her first Ironman, in her native Lanzarote.

15.- French Angel Vaquier with 19 years will be the youngest participant, while the most veteran will be Dutch Mink Zeilstra and the German Ulrich Pratsch, both 70 years.

16.- In women, the youngest will be the Italian Federica De Nicola and British Jessica Johnson who have 24 years and the most veteran French Evelyne Guillard of 66 years.
