Eneko Llanos and Iván Raña wanting to be up in the Austrian Ironman

After the celebration of Lanzarote, (first Ironman of Europe), the summer season of Ironmans European center begins with the dispute of the XIX edition of the IM of Austria.

Next Sunday 2 of July of May will be held on Ironman of Austria-Kärnten in the city of Klagenfurt with more than 3.000 triathletes from 60 different countries on the starting line. The Spanish side highlights the presence of two of the largest triathletes in our country, Ivan Raña y Eneko Llanos in addition to Spanish 140 competing in age groups.

In the male category, the main favorite is German Jan Frodeno, double world champion Ironman and Olympic champion in Beijing 2008.

The other candidates for the podium are the Ukrainian Viktor Zyemtsev and the Austrians Paul Reitmayr and Michael Weiss.

On the Spanish side, Ivan Raña you know what it's like to win in Kaglenfurt, you did it in 2014 with the "best mark" Spanish of all times 7: 48: 43. The Galician will seek to certify his mathematical classification for the Hawaii World Cup by finishing the race. Eneko Llanos was third in 2006 and after not being able to finish the Ironman of Brazil a few weeks ago he arrives in Austria with the intention of recovering the good sensations and being able to make a great race. In addition, another Spanish will run in the PRO category, Luis Vila.

In the female category the Austrian Eva Wutti is the main favorite, who returns to an Ironman competition after being a mother last year. Next to it, Danish also stand out Michelle Vesterby, the British Corinne Abram and the Swedish Camilla Lindholm.

The test will start on Sunday at 6: 40 professionals and GGEE 10 'later. The competition consists of swimming 3.600m at a turn on Lake Wörthen See, then 180km cycling fast, where the triathletes will give 2 laps to a circuit of 90km to finish with the 42,2km of the marathon, which will be done in 2 laps of 21,1 around from Lake Wörthen See.
