The last competition of Gurutze Frades before Kona, Ironman 70.3 of Augusta.

In addition this weekend several Spaniards will be in the participate in the Ironman of Italy

 This weekend Gurutze Frades will hold the last competition prior to Hawaii Ironman next October 14. The chosen career is the Augusta Ironman 70.3, in the state of Georgia in the USA.

Gurutze Frades has been concentrated for several weeks in altitude in Sierra Nevada, as usual before the big competitions of the year and already on his trip to Hawaii will stop in Augusta (USA) to compete in a medium distance to later travel to Kona and to acclimatize all right.  

The competition consists of swimming 1.900m, a fast swim is planned as it is in a straight line and with the current in favor in the Savannah River. Later the triathletes will pedal during 90km in a circuit with a lap of almost 600m and will end the competition with 21,1 km of running race through the streets of the historic center of Augusta. 

In the female race the main favorites are the South African Jeanni Seymour, the British Emma Kate Lidbury and the locals Holly Benner, Cecilia Davis-Hayes y Alissa Doehla

As far as men's competition is concerned, the 70.3 IM 2016 World Champion Tim Reed is the top favorite along with the locals Andy Potts, Matthew Russell y Jesse Thomas

Male and female start list 

The competition will start on Sunday 24 at 7: 40 local time (13: 30 hours in mainland Spain). Ten minutes before the 7: 30 will have taken the exit PROs boys and 7: 50 will do the age groups. 

On the other hand on Saturday 23 September in the town of Cervia, next to the Adriatic Sea will dispute the Ironman from Italy with several Spaniards in the list of exit: Michael Alonso, Eneko Elosegi, Iván Tejero, Patricia Bueno, Helena blacksmith and more than 50 age groups.
