Ironman announces its first "full" distance event for Italy

IRONMAN Italy Emilia Romagna will take place next 23 September 2017 Registrations open from November 4

IRONMAN, company belonging to Wanda Sports Holding company, has announced the first test in Italy in distance "Full" to be held next 23 September 2017, also having a 5150 ™ Triathlon Series event after the competition.
 
Cervia is a town of 29.000 inhabitants known for its spectacular beaches with crystal clear waters where its history dates back more than 1.300 years old and is also very well connected by car, train and plane (Bologna International Airport), in a privileged location for organize an Ironman distance triathlon.

The test will start at the beach of Cervia. The swimming course will have a lap of 3,8 km, with a quick transition to start the cycling tour where two laps will be completed to complete the total 180,2 km, starting at the seafront of Cervia, and then passing through the Romagna hills and cross the picturesque natural park of Las Salinas watching the pink flamingos in their natural habitat, finally ending in the area of ​​the vineyards of Sangiovese and the wine-growing area of ​​Romagna. The cycle segment will have a total of 700 m. Once the cycling segment is finished, the 42,2 km foot race will start on the Cervia area with a totally flat profile.

IRONMAN Italy Emilia Romagna will also offer $ 40,000 USD in professional prizes and 40 slots in GGEE for the Ironman 2018 World Championship.
