IRONMAN has declined the offer and the PTO says it remains interested

Last week we published the offer that the PTO had made (Professional Triathlon Organization ) to the Wanda Group to initiate the conversations of the purchase of the IRONMAN brand and all its associated events.

Well, today the web 220triathon has confirmed that IRONMAN has declined the offer and the PTO comments that it remains interested and that if they rethink their position they could reach an agreement

IRONMAN's response “we are not prepared to start a discussion about the sale at this time”

WTC CEO Andrew Messick IRONMAN's response was sent by letter to the PTO “I have discussed your letter with my Board. While we appreciate your interest, we are not prepared to enter into a discussion of the sale at this time."

On September 20, the PTO sent a letter to Wanda proposing “enter into negotiations for the acquisition by the PTO of all the assets of Wanda Sports Group Company Limited ('WSG') related to its global triathlon and mass participation business (the 'WTC Triathlon-MP Business') ".

The PTO response: “Our proposal to start conversations to acquire the WTC Triathlon-MP Business remains open”

The PTO responded to this statement with a letter to Ironman, saying: “Keep in mind that the PTO will continue to implement its self-determination strategy followed successfully by professional athletes in other sports such as golf and tennis, and we plan to move forward with the acquisition and operation of events in space to celebrate the sport we are so passionate about .

Rest assured that our plan is not mutually exclusive and our proposal to start conversations to acquire the WTC Triathlon-MP Business remains open.

Together with North Point Advisors, we are prepared to begin such discussions immediately if the WSG Board reevaluates your position. ".
