Today the first list of triathletes classified for the Hawaii Ironman World Championship has been known (35 men and 28 women, plus the continental champions and Kona winners from previous years). Gurutze Frades e Ivan Raña the only Spaniards classified at the moment.

Meanwhile Ivan Raña he has achieved 3740 points being the 42nd triathlete in the KPR Ranking. Raña added the most points in the Kona World Cup last year where he was 9th (3445) and the rest have been in the 70.3 of Barcelona (220), the 70.3 of Peru (45) and in the IM of Austria (30) . The 2002 ITU world champion will compete in Hawaii for the 5th time, being the second Spaniard with the most participations in Kona, only surpassed by 11 in Eneko Llanos.

Finally we want to highlight three triathletes who still have mathematical options to be in the Ironman World Championship, Eneko Llanos has 2.910 points in the 54 position, Miquel Blanchart with 2.245 in the 66 position and Carlos López with 2.215 in the 67 position. Miquel and Carlos will try their assault on "Mecca" in the next Ironman of Limburg and Hamburg respectively.

As far as Eneko is concerned, the Basque triathlete himself already announced on his social networks that "nor it will be bad for me to spend a different October"So we understand that he will not compete during the next weeks, giving up trying to be in Kona for 12 consecutive time.
