Jan Frodeno and Emma Pallant win the Ironman 70.3 Barcelona. Sara Loerh 4ª, Iván Raña 7º and Anna Noguera 9ª

The German with a spectacular comeback in the race on foot (1: 11: 58) takes the victory in Calella. Great performance by the Spanish Sara Loerh, Iván Raña and Anna Nogera in the TOP10.

Today a new edition of the contest has been held in the town of Calella Ironman 70.3 Barcelona where this year all eyes were on the duel between two Ironman World Champions, Jan Frodeno and Frederick Van Lierde and the Spanish Iván Raña.

The test began at 7 in the morning to face the 1,9 km of swimming where the fastest was Cesc Godoy completing the distance in 22:47, closely followed by Jan Frodeno, Iván Raña Bertrand Billard Nick Kastelein and Alexander Polizzi 10 seconds from the head of the race.

In the 90 km of cycling the French Bertrand Billard with a spectacular segment was opening up differences to get the T2 with about 4 minutes on Jan Frodeno and 4: 33 on Nick Kastelein. Frederick Van Lierde arrived with 6: 37, Cesc Godoy more than 9 and Ivan Raña more than 12 minutes on the leader of the test.

Once in the 21 km walking race on a circuit to 2 laps, between the beach of Calella and Santa Susanna the speed of Jan Frodeno was noticeable and was cutting the difference with Billard until he overtook the KM 8 career.

As for the women's event, the first to come out of the water was Catherine Jameson with 39 seconds ahead of Charlotte Morel. Camila Pedersen came out from behind more than 2 minutes. Sara Loern came out in eighth position and Anna Noguera in the ninth, more than 4 minutes from the head of the race.

In the cycling sector, the British Catherine Jameson increased the difference compared to her competitors by reaching the T2 with 2: 53 advantage over Emma Pallant and 3: 31 over Natalie Seymour.

However, the tables were changed in the 21 km of the race on foot, since Emma Pallant it was going back the time that it had on its compatriot to surpass it and to obtain the final victory in a time of 4: 40: 03. The second one to enter was Natalie Seymour (04: 43: 06), followed by Charlotte Morel (04:45:53) and a great Sara loerh (04: 46: 31) in fourth position.
