Judith Corachán fourth in the IRONMAN 70.3 Dubai

Adam Bowden and Holly Lawrence take the victory.

The favorite Kristian Blummenfelt He had to retire due to gastric problems shortly after starting the cycling sector.

Today, the first of the Triple Crown events, the IRONMAN 70.3 Dubai, where at first we were going to see the duel of Alistair Brownlee and Kristian Blummenfelt although finally it could not be.

The test began with the 1.900 meter swim where Adam Bowden and Eric Watson were the first out of the water. Blummenfelt came out seventh 15 seconds from the head

In the first kilometers of the cycling sector, the Norwegian was forced to retire, due to stomach discomfort, leaving the test open. In the passage through the 90 kilometer the French Sebastien Fraysee was leading with an advantage of 52 seconds over the persecuting group headed by the German Johan Ackermann but where Adam Bowden, Patrick Nilson or Eric Watson were among others.

Finally in T2 Ackermann was the first to arrive 12 seconds ahead of Fraysee, Bowden, Nilson and Watson. In the 21 km of race on foot we saw a clear dominator, Adam Bowden who little by little was imposing his rhythm to pass through the 13 km of race with 1:38 advantage over Patric Nilson and almost 4 over Fraysee.

Finally the victory was for the British Adam Bowden with a time of 3: 40: 11 followed by Swedish Patrick Nilson (3: 42: 50) and French  Sebastien Fraysee (3: 47: 05) occupying the third final position.

Holly Lawrence dominates the test from start to finish

Regarding female participation, we had a Spanish representative, Judith Corachán, which began the season in this test.

The first to get out of the water was the British Holly Lawrence with 1:24 advantage over her compatriot Frenella Langridge and 2:20 over the German Anne Haug.

In the bicycle sector Lawrence continued to increase its advantage to arrive in lonely and almost 6 minutes ahead to the T2 over Haug. Judith got off the bike in sixth position to little more than 1 minute of the podium.

In the race 21 km Holly Lawrence  he was managing his advantage and although he was losing time he got the victory with a 4 time: 00: 27 followed by Anne Haug (4: 01: 42) and by Sarah Lewis (4: 09: 39) who got the third final position. Judith Corachán that was tracing positions finally was fourth with a time of 4: 14: 34

With this fourth place Judith has slot for the World Championship which will be held in Nice since the first 3 in the test were already classified. Holly Laurence got the pass last year by proclaiming herself World Champion of the specialty, Sara Lewis got it in Barhain and Anne Haug was enough to finish a 70.3 test this year after her podium in the World Championship.
