Judith Corachán closes the season at the Ironman in Taiwan

Judith Corachán will try to put the finishing touch to the best season of her sports career

This Sunday 7 of October Judith Corachán will end his 2018 season in the Ironman of Taiwan. Judith has been competing since last January, where he achieved a great third position in the Ironman 70.3 in South Africa. During these months, he has reaped great results, becoming the best year of his life. With victories in the Challenge Salou, Triathlon of Zarautz, Triathlon of La Rioja and Half Vitoria, in addition to his third position in Embrunman, in the first Ironman distance triathlon that ended.

After not being able to finish the Ironman of South Africa last April, Judith He changed his planning to seek to qualify for the Hawaii 2018 World Cup, but decided that at the end of the year he would try to do it for 2019 and the chosen test was the Ironman of Taiwan. With the new regulation, the conditions to achieve the pass to the World Cup from next year have been modified. No need to score points in several races as up to now, but you will get the direct classification in the Ironman tests. In Taiwan there is only one place, for the winner.

The test will be held on Penhgu Island or Fisherman's Islands. A small archipelago that is 30 km west of Taiwan. To get an idea, the main island has an extension of about 50 km2. That is, a little larger than half of the island of Formentera.

The swim consists of 3800 meters, in a circuit of 1.900m of round trip to which it will be done twice. Later, the triathletes will pedal during 180 km in one of the most spectacular segments of the world, since it runs between four islands, joined by different bridges. Where the main handicap will be the wind, since the tonic of these islands, is that it blows daily around the 50km / h. Finally, the marathon is 4 turns of 10,5 km by the port of the main island.

Judith returns to Asia, where disputed in 2016 the Ironman 70.3 of the Philippines getting the 4ª place and starting his way to his historic participation in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship last year. I hope the Asian continent is the beginning of another great path for her.

Before competing, he has left us the following statements: "I have arrived in Taiwan with enough time in advance to adapt to the weather and the time change and that is benefiting me. I feel good and eager. I'm going to go out and enjoy the test and give everything, as always.

I know that at stake is important things like the qualification for the World Cup but it is complicated, it is only worth winning. I'm going to go out and try it, but without any pressure. Thank you all."
