Ironman disembarks in Morocco next season with IM 70.3 of Marrakech

The 27 of October of 2019 will be disputed the first edition of Ironman 70.3 of Marrakech in Morocco

The Ironman franchise does not stop expanding all over the world and proof of this is the birth of the Ironman 70.3 Marrakech - Morocco, the second African country to host Ironman events after South Africa.

Marrakech is located little more than 600km from Ceuta and has good combinations via plane with many Spanish cities, being less than 2 hours of all of them.

The triathlon has been growing for years in our neighboring country, a sample of them are the numerous Cups of Africa ITU where many Spanish triathletes will compete every year. The creation of the IM 70.3 in Marrakech is another step in the growth of the triathlon in Morocco

The test will consist of the 1.900m of swimming that will be held in the lake of Lalla Takerkoust, where the T1 will also be located. Later the cyclists will travel 90 km until arriving at Marrakech where they will leave the bike in the T2 to finish with the 21 km of race on foot, completely flat next to the Botanical Park.

The Ironman 70.3 Marrakech - Morocco will have 30 slots for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship of New Zealand 2020.
