Patrick Lange Ironman World Champion with record included: 7: 52: 39

In the cycling sector, the group of favorites in the lead quickly formed with the first in swimming, until at kilometer 31 of the Starykowicz segment, Costes, Wurf and Amberger passed together with 30 seconds of advantage over Noya's group.
This group with the idea of getting the best bottom time, was increasing differences to go through km 50 with 2 minutes of advantage over Noya's group and 2:50 over Lange and Van Lierde who were cutting differences behind. Lionel Sanders passed 5:39 in the lead. Sebastian Kienle, who suffered a puncture, was losing 5:45 at this point.
In the passage through km 80, the leaders continued to increase their advantage with more than 4 minutes over a group of 9 units with Noya, Patrick Lange and Dreitz. Sebastian Kienle and Sanders passed at 5:50 while Tim Don at 6:07 and Iván Raña at 7:57.
In the Hawi's turn, the leading group with Wurf, Starykowicz and Amberger led Noya and Lange's group by just over 4:30, 6 over Sanders while Kienle trailed one minute and passed 7 behind.
Cameron Wurf, who achieved the cycling record last year with 4:12:54, showed that he wanted to beat it again, leaving first Amberger and then Starykowicz with the goal of beating it again.
Wurf flew in the final kilometers to complete the 180km of course in a time of 4:09:06, shattering his previous record of 4:12:54. Starykowicz entered second at 2:10 and Amberger was third at 6:25.

Javier Gómez Noya dropped a bit in the last kilometers, reaching T2 with 45 seconds compared to Patrick Lange and 7:29 from the head of the race Cameron Wurf. Tim Don entered at 9:56 while Lionel Sanders and Sebastian Kienle at 10 : 59. The latter withdrew as soon as he started running.
In the 3 first kilometers of race, Wurf followed first, while behind the group of Lange was cutting differences. Javier Gómez Noya cut positions and went up to the eleventh to 30 seconds of Lange.
Little by little Lange was going up distances with respect to Wurf to go through kilometer 15 with only 1 minute of difference. Tim O'donnel passed third at 1:17. In that step Javier Gómez Noya was sixth at 3:04 from the head.
Shortly after, Lange, who was going like a bullet, overtook Wurf, leaving alone as the leader of the event.
In the passage through the half marathon Lange was leading with 1:30 of advantage over Belgian Bart Aernouts and 1:36 over Wurf. Behind Noya was sixth although he was cutting differences over his rivals, approaching podium positions less than Lange, who was still 3:12 ahead of him.
At kilometer 30, Lange continued to increase the lead passing with 2:08 over Aernouts, 5:48 over McNamee, Currie and O'donnel who were together. Noya passed seventh at 7:26
Finally Patrick Lange he achieved victory and his second consecutive World Cup with a time of 7:52:39, breaking the record and becoming the fastest World Champion in history. Bart Aernouts (7: 56: 41) was second followed by David Mcnamee (8: 01: 09) occupying the third final position.

In the women's event, Lucy Charles managed to break the segment record with a time of 48:14, beating the one achieved in 1999 by Jodi Jackson (0:48:43). In the general he has achieved the tenth best time,
The second to come out of the water was Lauren Brandon to 2: 52 followed by Teresa Adam to 3: 45. Daniela Ryf went to 9: 12 minutes of Lucy Charles in the water.
