Carlos López seeks to make history and qualify for Kona at the Ironman in Hamburg

The competition will start with 3,8km of swimming in the same place as the WTS, in Lake Binnen (where the WTS swim) and Lake Außenalster. Later the triathletes will cover the 180km of cycling, giving two laps to a circuit of 90 km fairly flat. Finally the triathletes will run for 42,2km skirting the lakes where they had previously done.
The main favorites to victory are the German Michael Realert and the South African James Cunnama Meanwhile Carlos López will be the only Spanish PRO on the departure list.
As regards the female competition the Austrian Eva Wutti is the big favorite along with the Germans Kristin Moeller y Daniela Sämmler
The competition will start on 13 Sunday in August at the 6: 40 with the male PRO, then women and age groups will do it.
