Tim Reed and Holly Lawrence Ironman 70.3 World Champions

75 professional triathletes participated in the test where we did not have any Spanish representative

 

This morning the Ironman World Championship 70.3 where the Australian Tim Reed and the British Holly Lawrence they have won their first world title.

In the men's event, the first to get out of the water was Josh Amberger followed 30 seconds behind a group with the favorites. Amberger continued to lead the cycling sector in the first few kilometers until a leading group of 15 was formed with Sebastian Kienle, Andreas Dreitz, Josh Amberger, Tim Reed and Tyler Butterfield who practically reached T2 together.

In the race on foot we could see a spectacular duel between the World Champion Sebastian Kienle and Tim Reed where finally in a tight sprint Tim Reed got the victory with a time of 3:44:14 followed just 2 seconds by  Sebastian Kienle (3: 44: 16) and the Czech Ruedi Wild (3: 44: 40) in third position.

As for the women's event, Lauren Brandon was the first out of the water followed by Holly Lawrence at 30 seconds and with 45 seconds more ahead of the rest of the group with Leanda Cave and Daniela Ryf.

Already in the cycling segment, Holly Lawrence demonstrated her dominance on the bicycle reaching T2 in first position with more than 3 minutes of advantage over Lauren Brandon and more than 4 over Caroline Steffen, Daniela Ryf and Leanda Cave.

Already in the 21 km of foot race the British Holly Lawrence  He managed to manage his advantage to get the victory in a time of 4: 09: 12, followed by the Austrian  Melissa Hauschildt (4: 11: 09) with the best running time on foot (1: 18: 43) and occupying the third position the Canadian Heather Wurtele (4: 13: 36).
