2.800 triathletes in the IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona

A few hours before the start of the race, Calella is ready to host, for the fifth year in a row, the IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona. It will be, in addition, in a very special edition for the great inducements that it presents and that have made 2.800 triathletes meet at the start line.

The already famous circuits are the first of the stimuli, where the participants will have to battle before 1.900 meters of swimming by the Mediterranean Sea; 90 kilometers of cycling really demanding on the interior roads of Montseny, with a positive drop of 1.200 meters; and 21 kilometers along the promenade before facing the finish line.

A challenge of height that many of the triathletes will face, also, with the motivation to share it with their club mates, on a very special date. And is that the IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona Next Sunday will host the TriClub EMEA Championship Final, with 90 clubs in competition and 745 registered triathletes. The show is more than assured.

All of them, and the rest of the participants, will share the starting line with the professional triathletes, which are another of the great attractions that this edition presents. Many of the looks will be placed on the dorsal number 1, the 7 times triathlon world champion Javier Gómez Noya. 

The Galician triathlete, a few weeks away from making his debut in his first IRONMAN distance test, will face the Calella test as a quality test, especially with the rivals he will face. Among them, the recent winner of the IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella, the Scottish David McNameeas well as the Swedish Patrik Nilssonthe Belgian Bart Aernouts, the French Bertrand Billard and the australian Cameron Wurf, among others.

In the women's category, the fight for the first positions will be very open, with great triathletes ready to take the victory. The defending champion won last year, the British Emma Pallant, as well as the Danish Camilla Pedersen and the Austrian Eva Wutti, all of them very knowledgeable of the circuit, are some of the maximum candidates. 

The test will have a good number of Spanish participants, who are the most represented group behind the British, the French and the Italians. It should also be noted that up to an 39% of those registered will face an IRONMAN 70.3 for the first time. A major challenge that surely you will not forget.
