Laura Phillip sweeps away at Ironman Barcelona in her debut in the distance

German singer Laura Phillip's tremendous debut in the distance, sweeping her ironman distance debut, making an "a la" exhibition by Daniela Ryf

Laura Philipp has starred in best debut of all time in the distance and the third best worldwide brand of the Ironman franchise and the best in European territory.

The Belarusian Hanna Maksimava was the first to cover the 3.800m swim, with a time of 55:33 and a group of seven 17” triathletes came out of the water with her, with Eva Wutti second, Dolça Ollé fourth, Laura Philipp fifth and Yvonne Van Vlerken sixth. 

Soon the Dutch Van Vlerken took the lead, leaving the group in four units, with Philipp, Wutti and Seymour. Halfway through the cycling segment Laura Philipp and Van Vlerken were left alone and went through kilometer 90 with a 4'30” advantage over Natalie Seymour. At this point Dolça Ollé was fifth at 14'. The German put the direct in the second part of the cycling segment and reached T2 with a 7 'advantage over Van Vlerken and almost 20' over the rest of the pursuers. Dolça Ollé was the best Spanish, 9th in T2, 25' behind the German. Merce Tussell will be 10th at 35'.

Despite having the victory very on track, Lanra Philipp continued to increase the income in the marathon. When passing through km 21 his advantage was 17 ′ over Van Vlerken and 28 ′ over Maksimava, who was third. At kilometer 28 his advantage was 23 'over Van Vlerken and 30' over Maksimava. Aware of the time that the German could mark at the finish line, she did not relax for a second, running at the maximum during the last kilóketros.

Finally, a resounding triumph Laura Philipp who allowed himself the pleasure of sneaking into the top 20 of the final general with a finish time of 8:34:57, which places him with the fifth best mark in history by a woman in ironman distance. The second in goal has been Hanna Maksimava (9: 08: 18) followed by Yvonne Van Vlerken  (9: 10: 49) occupying the third final position
