The 12 speeds of MTB reach the level of the Shimano Deore group

The fourth tier of the Shimano MTB groups brings the tried and tested Shimano 12-speed transmission and brake system technology to the general public, plus new 11 and 10-speed versions.

Shimano launches its newest 12-speed MTB groupset, the SHIMANO DEORE M6100 series, along with new SHIMANO DEORE M5100 11-speed and SHIMANO DEORE M4100 10-speed versions to bring premium technologies to a new price level.

The M6100 series is created with the same DNA level of the Shimano XTR, SHIMANO DEORE XT and SLX mountain groups, and is fully compatible with its more advanced companions, so you can choose and combine your favorite configuration to fit your needs of conduction.

Meanwhile, the 11 and 10-speed versions have been built on the legacy of the SHIMANO DEORE MTB groupset, retaining technologies such as the HG HYPERGLIDE derailleurs, 2-WAY RELEASE, SHIMANO SHADOW RD + shifters, and I-SPEC EV controls on the handlebar for expand the versatility of this value-focused group.

SHIMANO DEORE M6100 SERIES (12-speed)

Shimano's proven 12-speed technologies are inherent in every component of the SHIMANO DEORE tier.

Cranks 1 × 12:

The SHIMANO DEORE 12-speed cranks (FC-M6100) with their sleek metallic color, and unique option for 1 × 12 combination, are designed for transmission simplicity.

They equip the same DYNAMIC CHAIN ​​ENGAGEMENT + technology as the XTR, SHIMANO DEORE XT, and SLX cranks that, with the combined (wide / narrow) tooth profile, provide the key to improved chain retention, smoothness, and transmission silence.

For safe and quick chainring mounting, the crank is equipped with the Direct Mount system, making chainring change very easy.

The specification table includes the 170mm or 175mm length options, 30D or 32D chainrings (although there is full compatibility with the smallest or largest chainrings in the SLX, XT and XTR level groups), or the choice between 3 Q-factors (distance between the inner face of the connecting rods) different: 172mm (for a 142 / 148mm OLD), 178mm (OLD 148mm) or 181mm (OLD 157mm).

Two alternative SHIMANO non series DEORE level cranks are also available, the FC-MT511-1 (30T, 32T) and the FC-MT510-1 (30T, 32T, 34T).

Cassette and chain:

The SHIMANO DEORE 12-speed MICROSPLINE cassette is made of 12 durable steel crowns with a 10/51 development combination.

Finished with the unmatched shift quality of HYPERGLIDE + technology, you can shift both up and down the cassette in loaded situations, making the SHIMANO DEORE shift smoother than ever.

The SHIMANO DEORE 12-speed HG chain (CN-M6100) provides a smooth transmission with high retention by expanding the internal contact surface of the bolts to perfectly combine the DYNAMIC CHAIN ​​ENGAGEMENT + technology of the chainrings with the HYPERGLIDE + technology of the cassettes , allowing you to pedal continuously, even while shifting gears under load.

Rear change:

The SHIMANO DEORE 12-speed rear derailleur (RD-M6100-SGS) enables fast and precise shifting with the development of the 10-51D. 13 tooth pulleys and SHIMANO SHADOW RD + technology reduce chain noise and provide improved chain retention thanks to a stiffer rear derailleur arm and increased chain tension.

Button:

The SHIMANO DEORE 12-speed right button (SL-M6100-IR) benefits from the same technologies as the XTR, SHIMANO DEORE XT and SLX: I-SPEC EV.

It provides greater ergonomic adjustments such as 14mm side shift and 10 degree rotational adjustment that allow you to configure the handlebar controls much more to your liking.

Along with the RAPIDFIRE PLUS speed and 2-WAY RELEASE specification, you can switch the 12 speeds of your cassette up and down much faster than before.

Brakes:

SHIMANO DEORE M6100 brakes are available in an XC-specific version, with two-piston caliper (BR-M6100), or in a 4-piston trail / enduro variant (BR-M6120), both with a redesigned brake lever ( BL-M6100), resulting in a stiffer mount that provides more control and more power.

The brake levers are equipped with the proven Shimano SERVO WAVE technology that provides faster contact between the pad and rotor, improved power and a shorter free stroke.

Both clamps can be used with resin or metal pads and preferably with Shimano SM-RT64 or SM-RT54 discs.

To complete the command post there is an optional telescopic seat post handle, the SL-MT500 handle. Allows riders to quickly operate the seat post without moving their hand from their position on the cuff.

The SL-MT500 seatpost lever is available with both clamp and I-SPEC EV mounting version for a cleaner handlebar configuration.

SHIMANO DEORE M5100 SERIES (11-speed) and M4100 SERIES (10-speed)

The continuity of the SHIMANO DEORE 10-speed series and the addition of a SHIMANO DEORE 11-speed series extends the versatility of the SHIMANO DEORE range as a group to cover many different bike riding styles, tastes and budgets.

Transmissions:

Unlike the 12-speed version, both series maintain the option for dual transmission (2 × 11 or 2 × 10) as well as a single transmission (1 × 11 or 1 × 10).

Without some of the advanced technologies of 12-speed transmissions, riders can still achieve great shifting performance with HG cassettes and chains, RAPIDFIRE PLUS MONO single-knob left shift paddles and 2-WAY RELEASE functionality.

Riders who choose an 11-speed crank will have the option of an 11-51D HG cassette for 1x transmissions combined with 30D or 32D chainrings (FC-M5100), or a (2 × 11) transmission with chainline normal (FC-M5100-2) or Boost (FC-M5100-B2) equipping 36D-26D chainrings and a shorter 11-42D steel developing HG cassette (CS-M5100).

10-Speed ​​riders can combine their 1 × 10 Chainrings (30D or 32D) with an 11-46D wide-development steel HG cassette, or for the 2 × 10 (36-26D) option they can choose the shorter development 11 -42T HG Steel Cassette (CS-M4100).

Shift:

 The rear derailleurs are specific to each transmission option.

The SHIMANO SHADOW RD + RD-M5100-SGS rear derailleur is specific to 1 × 11-speed transmissions and has a low-profile design to prevent stone damage plus a chain stabilizer to reduce chain shake and movement .

It is designed to install the 51D crown from the 11-speed cassette.

The RD-M5120-SGS rear derailleur also equips SHIMANO SHADOW RD + technology with low profile and chain stabilizer and is designed to install 42D (2 × 11/10-speed) cassettes or

46D (1 × 10-speed). A more economical M4120-SGS SHIMANO SHADOW RD derailleur is also available for 2 × 11 or 2 × 10 transmissions although it comes without the chain stabilizer feature.

The front derailleurs (FD-M5100 / M4100) provide a smooth, quiet and lightweight front derailleur. Optimal for tires up to 2.3 ″ on wide rims.

Both are available in multiple mounting position types (D, E, or M) to accommodate different frame designs.

Push buttons:

Whether you choose a single or dual transmission, the SHIMANO DEORE 10 and 11-speed shifters (SL-M5100-IL / IR) are available for I-SPEC EV mounting to provide a simplified connection to the brakes and the seat post. adjustable saddle, allowing for clearer handlebars (clamp mounting also available).

On the left side of the handlebar, the RAPIDFIRE PLUS MONO button allows cyclists to operate the front derailleur with a single, lightweight, instant-acting thumb control for both up and down shifting. In addition, the right button equips an optical gear display that makes it easy to check the selected gear.

The push button equips RAPIDFIRE PLUS technology to lower up to three gears at a time, while 2-WAY RELEASE technology allows cyclists to quickly downshift when approaching climbs.

Brakes:

In the 10 and 11 speed groups there is a single brake lever and two types of calipers (2-piston or 4-piston). The BL-M4100 lever is compatible with 2-piston or 4-piston calipers.

It provides an additional point of contact with the handlebars for a stiffer feel and comes with a faster actuation and shorter first contact distance than its predecessor.

The BR-MT420 4-piston caliper provides great stopping power with resin or metal pads. While the BR-MT410 2-piston caliper provides lighter weight (only for resin pads).
