We analyze the Garmin Swim

Garmin, a reference brand of sports watches, has sent us its star product for this summer, the Garmin Swim a watch designed for swimming whose main function is to count the laps, the strokes in each length to measure our efficiency, etc.

That is to say what we as triathletes have in our heads every time we go swimming in the pool, something that helps us count laps, measure how we are improving in this segment and thus be able to focus on technique and swimming.

Garmin Swim uses technology based on a accelerometer to track swimming data within a pool and not GPS, so it is not valid to measure distances in open water. The watch detects that a length has finished when it reaches the programmed distance along with the changes in stroke speed.

It has the predefined option of being able to configure the length of the pool in which we are going to train. Its design and its lightness call attention since it does not bother anything during the swimming session.

Just pressing the blue button starts the session recording. Interval sessions can also be programmed. The watch has different data screens where the length and overall total time of the session or the interval being performed, the rest time between intervals, the rhythm every 100 m and the SWOLF measurement will be displayed.

La SWOLF score de Garmin Swim  calculate your swimming efficiencyUsing the time spent in seconds plus the number of strokes you need to make a pool length) to help you measure your swimming effectiveness.

And all this with just the very intuitive use of 6 buttons, so that you can perform all the actions in an easy and simple way.

Once the training is finished at home, you can download the session data to the website of Garmin Connect for your analysis.
