Canyon's latest bike, Ultimate Artist Edition

After launching the special edition of photographer Tino Pohlmann at the end of 2020, the bicycle brand presents the new  Canyon Ultimate Artist Edition 2021.

Un first-class painting with a unique finish by designer Erik Spiekermann: Ultimate CF SLX 8 Disc LTD.

The second in a series of bikes that want to pay tribute to artists who have a passion for cycling.

Canyon and Erik Spiekermann have long shared their love of cycling.

At just 13 years old, Spiekermann painted his first road bike, green for the spokes and bronze for the frame.

Today he has more than 10 bikes distributed in his homes around the world, including custom mounts and collector's jewelry.

Only 50 units of the Erik Spiekermann edition of the Ultimate CF SLX 8 LTD have been made. A tribute to the work and aesthetics of this artist.

Each of the paintings is hand signed by Erik Spiekermann himself.

The Ultimate LTD designed by Erik Spiekermann is a work of art that combines bicycle design with the artist's personal touch.

As a typographer, Spiekermann knows that measurement is very important in graphic design. “All the measurements are connected, if I change one parameter I will have to redo the rest.

Choosing the correct measurements also determines the sensations that a bicycle transmits when pedaling. Visually uniting both concepts on the Ultimate has been a great way to highlight the clean, understated lines of its frame.”

Together with Canyon graphic designer Lukas Beck, Spiekermann has created a unique frame with technical details that often go unnoticed by most riders.

The design is also present in the wheels to form a harmonious whole.

The frame of this Ultimate CF SLX mounts the SRAM Force eTap AXS groupset, a 12-speed electronic gearbox with modern disc brakes, the Canyon CP10 carbon cockpit, Zipp 404 Firecrest wheels and Continental GP 5000 tires to achieve a unique model with the minimum weight and the highest level of performance.
