The Luxottica group and Intel have announced the launch of Radar Pace, smart glasses that include a voice-activated real-time training system. Radar Pace, which redefines the way athletes train, is the result of years of research and development between the Oakley brands of Luxottica and Intel.

This revolutionary device - which will be marketed at Oakley.com and a selection of Oakley stores - creates dynamic and personalized training programs, monitors performance, offers real-time virtual coach feedback, and responds naturally to questions posed by the user.

Oakley and Intel have collaborated to create a product that allows any athlete, regardless of their level, not only to train intensely, but to train properly, by providing relevant information about their performance and real-time comments from the virtual trainer. Radar Pace combines Oakley's high-performance design with technology based on Intel's experience to offer a truly innovative and customized training system for athletes of all levels.

The Radar Pace is a virtual trainer that assists athletes in each step of their training, whether running or cycling, interpreting data in real time, providing useful and personalized instructions, motivation during the course of training and making them athletes adhere to a structured and dynamic training program. Thanks to a hands-free conversation interface based on the Intel® Real Speech engine, the Radar Pace helps athletes maintain concentration and an optimal training posture; Bluetooth® connected headphones allow athletes to make and receive calls and messages or listen to music.

Radar Pace, following Oakley's legacy of performance-oriented technology and leveraging Intel's innovation leadership, combine the potential of opportunities with technology to deliver a unique performance experience. «Radar Pace It is the tangible proof that everything can be improved and improved, "says Scott Smith, vice president of strategic partnerships at Luxottica." It is the device for training, portable and hands-free, definitive, that leads to the smarts glasses, to a new level".

"Radar Pace is a revolutionary device in the field of training, as it fuses Oakley's obsession with design at the service of performance with Intel technology," said Ryan Saylor, senior vice president of advanced product development at Oakley. "One of the greatest advantages is the reliability: the coach is always there with the athlete to get the most out of each session. It is an authentic collaboration that will redefine the future of sport. "

CONTROL

Thanks to intelligent technology and the Radar Pace application, the device collects and analyzes personal performance data (including power, heart rate, speed, cadence, time, pace and distance) and provides athletes with information relevant and comments by audio in real time. Custom programs for athletics or cycling are calibrated on the basis of performance, track objectives and adjust to compensate for missed sessions. Instead of simply providing data to athletes, Radar Pace offers useful and easy to assimilate, understand and implement information.

TRAIN

Radar Pace is a reliable virtual trainer that assists you in every step of the training. In a similar way to what a human trainer does, Radar Pace creates a training program for all types of athlete, assimilating the results achieved to date and establishing objectives for the following tasks.

By interpreting the data in real time and providing instructions and motivation based on performance, the glasses make the athletes conform to a structured and dynamic training program, so they transform the way in which athletes control and understand their activity. .

By presenting information directly through the glasses, Radar Pace trains athletes to make immediate adjustments without having to operate a phone or a watch, and allows them to stay focused on their goals and performance.

ANSWER BACK

The voice interaction of Radar Pace, based on the Intel engine® Real Speech, allows athletes to pose questions to the virtual trainer, receive instant information and improve their understanding of the performance metrics developed by the glasses. The device is intuitive, natural and works in hands-free mode, so that athletes can communicate with the system in a direct and natural way during training sessions.

"Through collaboration we have challenged each other to reinvent what is possible: each one has taken their experience to the office, the laboratory, the track or the road," says Josh Walden, senior vice president and general manager of the new technologies group at Intel . "The end result is a powerful and innovative product that combines Intel's technology and engineering expertise and Oakley's lightweight and elegant design, which is preferred by many athletes around the world."

Oakley products and technologies are designed for the best athletes in the world, who demand the best, but the brand also believes that these same products and technologies must also be available to all consumers. By providing personalized information in real time, Radar Pace is the coach that any athlete, whatever their level, may need.

Radar Pace also includes Oakley PrizmTM, a revolutionary lens technology that dramatically enhances details to improve performance and offers ultra-precise color definition, designed for specific environments. The Prizm Road lens that comes with Radar Pace shines white and improves the perception of yellow, green and red, so that athletes can detect even the most subtle changes in the texture of the road and locate the risks with more ease, to live the training experience with more confidence.

The Pace Radar device is based on two main components: the Oakley glasses, with integrated headphones and microphone, and a mobile application for iOS and Android. The Radar Pace application is available for download in the Apple App Store® or on Google Play.
