The new S-Works Epic EVO specialized

goes to market with a price of 9.679,00 €

Have you ever seen yourself in the middle of a staged race and have you needed a little more margin of error in the descents? Maybe you've been on a journey and you've felt dejected, dusty, and have needed to return to the exit without getting on top of the handlebar? Those of Specialized also. That's why they have created a perfect bike for those situations. Say hello to the new S-Works Epic EVO — a more “epic” Epic

First, the EVO has increased the journey of the fork from 100 to 120 mm. This offers some relief to the front, as well as increasing it by one degree, up to 68,5º.

Next, we add a zero deviation seatpost to offer you more control in the descents, with a design that keeps your saddle on the bottom of the pedal on steep slopes. After, we focus on the canopies, using aGround Control of 2,3 " in the front and a more rigid Fast Trak in the rear, with GRID protection on the side walls.

The Epic EVO also has our Brain 2.0. The OG Brain It has changed the way the world of the bike looks at suspensions, and we like that. He has won races and has made us known as true leaders in innovation and development of suspensions, but we knew that we could do even better.

Simple physics told us that bringing the Brain closer to the rear axle would be a more sensitive point. And with more R & D, we have done it totally new. Now, it reacts continuously to the forces of the potholes, has a more consistent damping performance and also integrates the sleeves in the suspension arms. This means that the oil tracks are improved and that creates an incredibly elegant package with the best performance on the market.

It is also among our first Rider-First Engineered ™ MTB frames, in which the tubes have complex carbon parts in the right places, regardless of the size of the frame. As a result, the stiffness in the front is increased, thus offering better driving and greater control. In addition, each frame has specific tubes for its size, thus enjoying the stiffer bike and better driving XC that we have ever developed.

And although the rigidity, Brain technology and geometry are very good, we know what you're thinking ... “What about the weight?”. We are glad you ask. The weight reduction of the frame has been achieved by changing the lower sheath and cushioning extension of the previous Epic, reducing almost 525 grams. Additionally, current carbon models feature additional tire clearance to accommodate wider 2,3” tires. More traction ultimately means more speed.

For the structure of this S-Works Epic EVO no expense has been spared, with the new group and brakes Shimano XTR of 12 speeds, Fork FOX Factory Step-Cast 34 and carbon wheels Roval Control SL manufactured by hand.

The FOX Factory Step-Cast 34 controls the front suspension, has smooth 120 mm. The Fit4 cartridge provides a large adjustment capacity, while the new Step-Cast design keeps the weight to a minimum while increasing rigidity.

A telescopic seatpost on an XC bike? You will thank us. Adding a minimum weight but offering versatility, the FOX Factory Transfer telescopic seatpost without delay (zero-offset), keeps you in the optimal position on the bottom of the bottom bracket, and disappears on descents.
