What helmet and glasses should you wear to make an Ultraman?

The choice of material is very important in competitions of long or ultradistance

An Ultraman is a competition of 3 days where participants have to travel a total distance of 515 kilometers

  • The first day you will swim 10 kilometers (6,2 miles) and then 144,8 kilometers of cycling (90 miles).
  • On the second day they will cycle 273,5 kilometers (170 miles).
  • The third and last day you have to run 84,3 kilometers (52,4 miles)

The utrafondista  Marcos López Bonilla that already gave us 10 tips to face an Ultraman, just got a sixth place in the Ultraman of Australia

Marcos has relied on our collaborator VISIORAMASPORT to meet this challenge of being a finisher in this tough test.

That's why we want to tell you what material was used in the race:

During the cycling segment he had a POC Aero Helmet

Poc helmet for triathlon

Poc is a somewhat peculiar brand (due to the retro touch of its products), which became fashionable in the world of cycling, after its arrival in the world of competition with the Garmin team (and now Cannondale). It has the highest quality and excellent results. Its declared weight is 210 g (size S), 215 g (size M) and 225 g (size L), depending on the models made for Europe (American models weigh more).

It has reflective details to improve visibility. It has few ventilation holes, but its interior is designed to try to dissipate heat as a countermeasure.

During the whole tour he used the POC DO HALF BLADE glasses

GLASSES POC DO HALF BLADE triathlon

The DO Half Blade are developed for road cycling, with Grilamid injected for lightness and durability. They offer excellent flexibility, with the option to change the crystals depending on the conditions. The rubber inserts and the adjustable hydrophilic rubber nose bridge will hold the mount firmly in place.

The Do Half Blade offer more lower and peripheral vision thanks to its structure half frame without frame at the bottom, so you can go more safely in traffic and do not lose sight of the rest of the riders of the peloton. The tints of the lenses, optimized for road cycling, increase the contrasts on the surface of the road so you can detect irregularities, holes and gravel in time. Anti-fog and Ripel treatments will prevent fogging, dirt and grime of the lenses and allow rapid dissipation of water.

If you perform medium or long distance triathlon, or betting on ultra distance like the ultraman, VisioramaSport helps you equip yourself with the best material
