Polar presents the contactless payment system Powered by Fidesmo
Polar, a global leader in sports technology for training, health and well-being for almost 50 years, announces its collaboration with the pioneering Swedish technology company Fidesmo to present a newnew contactless payment system to make payments comfortably and securely.
Easy to adapt and made of soft and durable silicone, these Contactless straps are compatible with all Polar watches and any watch compatible with standard 20mm and 22mm straps.
With this solution, integrating contactless payments into a Polar watch or any other is as simple as changing the strap.
Polar's new payment straps are equipped with an NFC chip which links payment cards and Fidesmo Pay, a secure contactless payment service.
With the Fidesmo Pay app, users can connect their payment card to the strap. As soon as the payment function is activated in the Fidesmo Pay application, users can pay by bringing their watch strap close to any terminal
The solution is very secure, as the bracelet only stores a token representing the user's payment card, eliminating the need to transmit the actual card number during transactions.
Fidesmo's solution enables advanced secure hardware transactions, similar to those of Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

Polar's new pay straps are designed specifically for sports, made from soft but sweat-resistant silicone to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.
Fidesmo Pay is available in more than 40 European countries and works with any terminal that supports contactless payments worldwide.
Availability
Polar's new paid straps will be available for purchase at polar.com in Europe from May 15 in black, in standard widths of 20mm and 22mm, for €59,90.
