From Triathlon News we test the Razor 5
During our testing in tempo and interval sessions, the Razor 5 excelled particularly in lively rhythms (under 4:30 min/km), where its reactivity and lightness make the difference.
The extra boost provided by the carbon plate in combination with the HYPER BURST PRO™ foam allowed us to maintain high cadences with less effort.
On long runs of up to 15-18 km, the cushioning proved to be sufficient without losing the feeling of firmness underfoot. However, the fit in the forefoot is narrow, so we recommend half a size up if you have wide feet.
On dry and wet surfaces, the Goodyear® outsole offered impeccable traction, slip-free, even in tight curves. The Arch Fit® insole provides extra comfort to the arch of the foot, ideal for those who accumulate weight weekly.
Note: Tested by intermediate runners in urban sessions, but did not include testing over distances longer than 20km.
Our opinion
The Skechers GoRun Razor 5 is an excellent choice for the runner looking for guaranteed performance.
The combination of technologies geared toward running efficiency (such as the Hyper Arc® rocker geometry or the Carbon Infused™ plate) and comfortable materials like the Arch Fit® insole make it a versatile shoe, suitable for both quality training and competition.
This slippers They are sufficient for most light to intermediate weight neutral runners (up to 80 kg) looking for speed over distances up to 15-18 km, although they may feel firm for those who prefer more cushioning.
However, there are some aspects to keep in mind:
- El fit may be fair for those with wide feet.
- They are not the best choice for regenerative or very long runs, although they can be used since Skechers always offers great comfort in all its models.
- La light mesh gets dirty quickly, although machine washing solves it.
Conclusions
A sneaker designed to run fast without sacrificing comfort, ideal for threshold pace training, quality sessions or even medium-distance triathlons.
Its strengths: lightness, reactivity and podiatric comfort.
From Triathlon News we highlight:
- High quality materials.
- Smart design, thought out in detail (fit, comfort).
- Very competitive price-quality ratio in the carbon plate shoe segment.
