SIGMA improves the navigation functions of its ROX family

Users of the SIGMA GPS ROX 2.0, ROX 4.0 and ROX 11.1 EVO cycle computers will experience a significant feature upgrade

SIGMA enhances the cyclist's navigation experience with exciting new features for navigating with ROX GPS bike computers.

Una new “Search & Go” function in the SIGMA RIDE app, Turn-by-turn directions and simplified track import make it easy to plan your next bike ride and transfer tracks to your bike computer.

"With this update, we greatly expand the range of functions of our GPS devices.

En this category of cycling computers, we are bringing to the market a unique riding experience“, says Dr. Niklas Brown, Director of Innovation at SIGMA.

Get to your destination comfortably with “Search & Go” in the SIGMA RIDE app

The intelligent navigation indicating only one point, “Search & Go” allows riders to quickly find any location and navigate to it.

To do this, they can enter a specific address in the SIGMA RIDE app or tap anywhere on the map to set it as a destination.

Riders can choose from four different route profiles.

The path created can be started directly on the ROX (without any additional communication with the mobile phone) or save in the app to be used in the cycle computer later.

Plan routes easily and follow them at any time

Addition ROX 11.1 EVO, ROX 2.0 and ROX 4.0 now also have tracked navigation. This allows you to travel a previously planned route.

Riders can plan their ride in the SIGMA DATA CENTER or on a third-party portal like komoot or Strava and import it into the SIGMA RIDE app.

They then start the selected route, either on their bike computer or in the RIDE app.

A special feature: the route can also be saved on the bike computer and used without a mobile phone at a later time.

On the ROX 11.1 EVO you can even save up to 36 tracks and start them offline.

Comfortable navigation with SIGMA's own turn-by-turn directions

On planned routes in the SIGMA DATA CENTER, via Search & Go or komoot, a large turning arrow and a acoustic signal warns cyclists of the next intersection while they circulate.

When riders start navigation, a navigation page is automatically added to the ROX screen. ROX 4.0 and ROX 11.1 EVO can also show a preview of the altitude profile on another sport profile page.

During navigation, a large turn arrow and an audible signal alert cyclists of the next turn.

On the ROX 11.1 EVO screen, turn-by-turn instructions appear as a pop-up message or can be set as a value on any training page. ROX 4.0 and ROX 11.1 EVO also display street names.

The smart combination of tracking and turn-by-turn directions guides cyclists quickly and reliably to their destination and eliminates the need for maps or constantly glancing at your mobile phone.

If cyclists go off the intended route or are driving in the wrong direction, the ROX offers acoustic and visual information and shows the direct route to the planned route.

The zoom of the view of the route adjusts to the distance of the route. This provides a better overview and makes it easier to get back on track.

Availability

The new features are available immediately via a free firmware update for ROX 2.0 and 4.0 models, as well as an update to the SIGMA RIDE app.

The firmware update for the ROX 11.1 EVO will arrive in Autumn 2022. You can watch a video about the navigation update with Dr. Niklas Brown, Director of Innovation here
