Specialized creates a Complete Aerodynamic System, designed to provide an unprecedented aerodynamic advantage and speed

Specialized Bicycle Components has always worked to provide cyclists with more than new products, preferring to improve the cycling experience through technically advanced products that imply real performance benefits.

For this purpose, Specialized built its own wind tunnel at 2013, "The Win Tunnel" as we like to call it, and since then it has been looking for the limits of aerodynamic design and development. And now, Specialized is proud to present a Aero system composed of five products top of range, that individually, lead their respective fields in terms of aerodynamic advantage, but together, they break the mold of the aerodynamic capacities saving more than five minutes in forty kilometers.

S-WORKS VENGE ViAS: 120 seconds of savings in 40 kilometers

Born in the Win Tunnel, the shape of each tube, each edge, and detail in the design of the S-Works Venge ViAS It has been created to be fast. It has faced an intensive examination during its development, resulting in 120 seconds faster than the Tarmac SL4 in 40 kilometers. To achieve this, Specialized has had to develop special bearings and spacers so that all the guiding of covers and cables was internal and nothing was left exposed or in sight.

In addition, patented integrated brakes provide the perfect combination of aerodynamics and power. They do not suppose an aerodynamic resistance additional and possess a power and modulation of first, with the front clamp forming part of the rear profile of the fork, and the rear maintaining the flow coming from the tube of the saddle and the drums and where the deflection of the wheel is less.

However, the aerodynamic performance is not at odds with an appropriate position adjustment. HELMET S-WORKS EVADE: 46 seconds of savings in 40 kilometers

The S-Works Evade helmet replicates the same profile as the Specialized S-Works McLaren TT helmet, drastically reducing aerodynamic drag. In fact, compared to an S-Works Prevail, the Evade saves 46 seconds in 40 kilometers. And to combine performance with comfort, the helmet has strategically placed vents that absorb air around the head, channeling it for ejection through the exits at the back, creating effective cooling. Specialized also includes its Trifix strap system, which is combined with the ultra lightweight Mindset dial and its height adjustment, ensuring that the perfect fit is intuitive and easy to achieve.

S-WORKS 6 SHOES: 35 seconds of savings in 40 kilometers

Various tests at the Boulder Sports Medicine Center show that the new S-Works 6 shoes improve the peak acceleration of their predecessors. They incorporate a carbon Powerline outsole that is optimized asymmetrically, and with a stiffness index of 13.0, it is the stiffer shoe that Specialized offers. Complementing this is the new PadLock ™ heel that combines a tight heel with molded pads that secure the foot in place. Increasing the energy transfer to the pedals, we find portions of the upper deck in Dyneema® Cubic Tech ™, aerospace-grade material that has no elastic properties and is so light and strong that it is literally used in parachutes that decelerate spacecraft. For the roof, Specialized uses a Strobel method of construction in one piece, which eliminates the variables that contribute to adjustment anomalies. We also find a perforated synthetic micro fiber that is lightweight, durable, and highly breathable, in addition to the patented BOA® S2t Snap closure system for precise and secure tightening.

MONO S-WORKS EVADE GC: 96 seconds of savings in 40 kilometers

An imprecise adjustment causes wrinkles in the tissue, and contributes to loss of seconds. To remedy this, the Mono S-Works Evade GC is available in eleven sizes providing the most personalized fit. We also found welded sleeves without fists for aerodynamic improvement, while the Dimplex fabric on the shoulders incorporates a texture with slits, like those found on a golf ball, to significantly reduce air resistance.

Specialized has also developed a type of construction on the shoulders that eliminates the need for seams, greatly improving the aerodynamic profile, comfort, and overall fit of the overalls. Panels of interwoven material are used on the legs and back to reduce weight, while increasing compression to reduce fatigue.

And to further ensure the combination of performance and comfort, the jumpsuit includes full frontal zip and Cold Fabric technology that reflects the solar rays absorbed typically by dark colors thus reducing the surface temperature.

CLX 64 WHEELS & S-WORKS TURBO TIRE: 44 seconds savings over 40 kilometers

The Roval CLX 64 wheel set and the S-Works Turbo tire have been developed together in the Specialized Win Tunnel, resulting in the set with the best aerodynamics and lowest rolling resistance ever created. Comparing the rolling resistance alone, the S-Works Turbo tire has shown a saving of 35 seconds in 40 kilometers compared to its closest competitors, whereas when compared with a set of standard aluminum wheels, the CLX 64 are 44 fastest seconds in 40 kilometers. And with lateral wind, they are 104 seconds faster.

In terms of stability and traction, the tubeless-ready rim of 21 mm inner width increases the volume of the tire, generating a greater contact footprint. The wheels also use tapered spokes and planes, and Specialized has created its own hubs with specific shape to achieve the best possible aerodynamic performance.
