Test Material: We analyze the Skechers Go Trail

Go Trail is a shoe that presents all the comforts and cushioning of Skechers models for running but with the grip and traction needed to run on dirt roads, forest tracks and trails

Today we present the latest model of sneakers Skechers for Trail running, Skechers Go Trail, used a few weeks ago by the triathlete Rubén Ruzafa in the ITU Cross Triathlon World Championship where he achieved his third world title. Go Trail is a shoe that presents all the comforts and cushioning of Skechers models for running but with the necessary grip and traction to run on dirt roads, forest tracks and trails.

Sole

The Skechers Go Trail have a practically flat sole where several parts of the midsole are left on the air allowing greater flexibility. The sole consists of tacos of medium-low profile with a certain separation between them which allows a great adaptation to different types of terrain.

The rubber from which the sole and cleats are made is very versatile offering good guarantees both on solid rock and sandy areas, presenting good traction in the ascents and giving a satisfactory result in downs with sudden changes of direction.

Mediasuela

As is characteristic of the Skechers shoes the drop is important, the Go Trail have a drop of about 11 mm the front of the metatarsal measures 23 mm while the back in the heel reaches the 34 mm. The heel area is practically glued to the ground while the toe has a certain elevation of about 15 mm, ideal to face the uphill sections in paths or tracks favoring a great grip.

Also mention that the midsole is made with the system M-Strike with what favors the naturalness of the footprint obtaining a more advanced foot entry.

Upper

The upper is composed of several pieces, in the front for added security presents a stitched reinforcement, although this seam is only seen externally because in the interior of the shoe the point is so thin that it looks more like a sealed union than stitched. In the central part of the foot, where the "S" of the Skechers logo is, it is the zone of greater ventilation, formed by a thin but very resistant mesh that allows ato great foot breathability.

The tongue is spongy, offering great softness and a very easy adaptation to the instep. In this area the Skechers Go Trail do not have holes for the laces, but these are intertwined in veins for a greater support and comfort.

To finish with the description of the upper, in the Achilles tendon area we found a heat-sealed reinforcement that allows greater heel hold and increased safety.

Conclusions

CAs is usual in all Skechers models, the shoes stand out for their great comfort, the first time you wear the shoes the footwear adapted to the foot "like a glove" something very difficult to achieve, since the normal thing is that we notice some small discomfort for being a new shoe and that this little bit disappears, but in the case of Skechers models that we have been trying this does not happen and we always have a great sure that they will be very comfortable shoes as is the case of the Go Trail.

On the other hand we must highlight the great cushioning of the shoe but this does not mean that it is not hard and has little grip, on the contrary, the combination of the hard sole tacked with the midsole of M-Strike forms a Great combination with great grip, traction and cushioning.

We also want to mention that we have used the shoe in different types of terrains, from solid rock to beach sand, going through stone paths, dirt roads, grass and asphalt. As a general rule, it adapts very well to all of them, also standing out in wet areas of grass and mud, where although the blocks are not very large we have been able to run safely.

To put some stick, in the great behavior of the Go Trail in all areas, it is true that in areas with a lot of mud if we had a little feet, and on the other hand due to the great ventilation of the middle area of the upper when it's time to run through the sand on the beach we've found that we get some sand.

Skechers ambassadors opinions:

To finish this analysis of the shoes Skechers Go Trial We have consulted three Skechers ambassadors to give us their opinions on the Go Trail, a Ruben Ruzafa, Riki Abad and Ramón Ejeda.

Ruber Ruzafa:

"I liked the new Skechers Go Trail, they are fast shoes but with good cushioning for training and long runs. In essence they are like the Go Run Ride 5 but with a sole taqueada hard rubber.

The studs are medium in height and spacing between studs, leaving us with a shoe that we can use for everything. As soon as you put them on you feel very comfortable, as if you had used them before, especially if you come from running with other Skechers. In short, trail shoes suitable for training and competition that can defend themselves well on all terrains”

Riki Abad:

"A few days ago I received the GOTRAIL model from Skechers, the first thing that surprised me was its lightness, despite having a high drop you are surprised by its light weight. Great comfort from the first kilometer, very good cushioning, stability and a sole with a lot of grip to run on roads, trails and demanding terrain. It can also be a great partner for volume training that mix tracks with asphalt. "

Ramón Ejeda:

"The Go Trail is a shoe where you can feel the full potential of Skechers but orienting it to the frame of the mountain. Accustomed to the natural running of Skechers is really surprising and rewarding to see how they can adapt to the mountain with attributes such as grip or stability so necessary in this type of terrain. Without a doubt one more step in the continuous growth of Skechers. "
