Test wheels ROTHAR by Natalia Raña

Rothar is a Spanish brand based in Vicálvaro (Madrid) that is dedicated to assemble and customize carbon wheels with different finishes.

Its founders, David Ortega y Alex AnduesThey aim to offer a product of the highest quality with a personalized design for each of their clients, at a very competitive price in the market.

To test its wheels we take advantage of the celebration of Full Triatlon Vitoria. For this we have mounted a lenticular rear wheel and a front fifty profile wheel. The two go with tubular inflated to 12 pressure bars.

ROTHAR lenticular wheel

The rear lenticular wheel allows cassette of 10 or 11 speeds. In this case it is mounted with a cassette of 10 speeds Shimano Dura-Ace. The surface of the braking track is basalt.

Of this wheel we would emphasize above all the rigidity that it offers. On the way, once launched, the inertia that it takes in both flat and descent is noted. In the climbs, it is difficult to move it a little more than a low profile wheel, but you will love the noise it makes when you get up and dance the bike.

The front wheel is profile 50 with a braking track also in basalt. An R26 sealed bearing hub, flat aerodynamic spokes and aluminum spoke nipples.

It is a very light wheel and also offers great rigidity.

From the first pre-competition starts the sensations of running, lightness and hardness of the wheels are very good. Something that is confirmed in competition ... The behavior is fantastic.

There is the possibility to customize them with different colors of vinyl, spokes, ringlets, hub ...

You can also choose the Power Tap bushing for those who love potentiometers and training-competition per watt. For those of you who have never tried the tubular, tell them that it is incredible the feeling of grip that gives curve. Filming is made more comfortable thanks to the inflation pressure that holds (up to 12 bars) Much greater than any cover with camera.
