Trail running ... and much more!

The Mix Master is the minimalist proposal of MERRELL ideal for trail running. However, these shoes are designed and designed for multidisciplinary action in the mountains.

They fuse some running shoe features with footwear features for the mountain. They are ultra light and very flexible and only have 4mm drop. In addition, they feature Merrell Air Cushion, a patented midsole that offers, at every step, the compression needed to absorb up to four times the body weight, while providing maximum stability.

This season highlights the Mix Master 2 and the Mix Master Tuff. Both models, low cane, are manufactured with Strobel construction for greater flexibility and comfort. They have a padded tongue to prevent dirt and reflective details that increase visibility in low light. They incorporate an anatomical EVA insole, treated with the Aegis solution, which prevents the bad smell and another of EVA of 2mm that helps to absorb the shocks and provides more comfort sensation.

Both the Master Mix 2 and the Master Tuff Mix have the average Sole Merrell Float, a finer 10% and a lighter 25% to provide more control and offer more connection to the ground. They incorporate a thermoplastic piece of 1 mm that distributes the pressure in the whole foot to avoid discomfort if we run into any obstacle in the way, like a stone. As it is a multidisciplinary shoe, it has an adhesive rubber sole and some 3,5mm studs, ideal both for the asphalt race and for trail running.

The difference between both shoes is in the capacity of cushioning and protection against irregularities in the terrain. The Mix Master 2 has 9mm half-sole and Mix Master Tuff 12 mm half-sole, therefore has more cushioning. The sole compound makes the torsion level of the shoe less in the Tuff as it is more robust. In practice the Master Tuff Mix offers greater protection, therefore it is a less extreme option for trail running. In addition, the Master Tuff Mix has all the reinforced contour to offer an extra protection against impacts, wear and inclemency that may arise from trail running, but still maintains the flexibility and lightness of the minimalist footwear.

Both models weigh only 283 grams.
