La Nucía welcomes 1.400 athletes in the Spanish Duathlon SuperSprint Championships 2023
This weekend, La Nucía "City of Sports" will host the Spanish Duathlon SuperSprint Championships 2023, Involving 1.400 athletes and 75 clubs from all over Spain.
The competition, which is held by third consecutive year, has the support of the Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI), the La Nucía City Council, the Alicante Provincial Council and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation with the Spanish Olympic Committee, within the Support Program for Competitions in the Valencian Community (PAC CV) .
Competitions and weekend schedule
During the weekend, competitions will be held in thes SuperSprint modalities for Relays/Pairs, for Clubs and for Clubs 2×2, adding a total of 1.400 athletes.
In addition, the tests will decide the National Leagues of Duathlon Clubs 2023, with the presence of 75 national clubs.
The entrance for the public will be free and free in the stands of the Estadi Olímpic, where the start and finish line of the competition will be located.
La Nucía, a benchmark for Duathlon
"La Nucía, City of Sports" has been recognized as "Triathlon City" since 2021, thanks to the agreement with FETRI.
The mayor of La Nucía, Bernabé Cano, has been distinguished with the FETRI silver insignia for his firm commitment to the Duathlon.
The Spanish Duathlon SuperSprint Championships will have explosive routes of 2 km of running, 6 km by bike and 1 km of running, with a technical circuit and an important slope.
Saturday day: Couples and Clubs Relay Championships
On Saturday, April 22, the Spanish Duathlon Championship for Couples Relay at 10:00 a.m., followed by the competition of First and Second Division for men and women.
In the afternoon, the finals of the Spanish Duathlon SuperSprint Championship for Clubs in all categories.
Sunday: Spanish Duathlon SuperSprint Championship 2×2
On Sunday, April 23, the last points for the National Leagues of Duathlon Clubs 2023 in the Spanish Duathlon SuperSprint 2×2 Championship.
The competitions will take place in the Open, Second Division and First Division categories for men and women throughout the morning.
This sporting event of great magnitude and repercussion in La Nucía "City of Sports" will attract thousands of fans of the duathlon and will promote tourism in the region, promoting the growth of the sport in the Valencian Community.
