1.400 triathletes from 50 clubs compete this weekend in Roquetas de Mar

Roquetas de Mar becomes the epicenter of the national triathlon this weekend with the celebration of the Spanish SuperSprint Triathlon Championships, as well as the central days of the Iberdrola and National Triathlon Club leagues.

With the participation of 1400 triathletes from 50 clubs throughout Spain, this event promises to be one of the most spectacular events of the year.

The event was presented at the Roquetas de Mar City Hall with the intervention of the mayor Gabriel Amat and the competition director of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, Jorge Garcia.

On Saturday, May 25, the Spanish SuperSprint Triathlon Club Championship will start with the third day of the League.

This test will be held in eliminatory series of individual races, where the clubs will add points according to the positions achieved by their athletes.

 The men's qualifying series will begin at 9 a.m., and the finals will be held from 11:15 a.m. At 12 noon. It will be the turn of the women's series, whose finals will take place starting at 14:15 p.m.

The fourth league day will present the SuperSprint Couples Relay, where three couples from each club will compete in a SuperSprint triathlon, taking over after each of them completes the test.

The men's categories will start at 16 p.m., followed by the women's at 17:30 p.m. The award ceremony for these championships will take place at 20 p.m.

On Sunday, May 26, the fifth day of the National Triathlon League will be held with the Spanish 2×2 Club SuperSprint Triathlon Championship.

In this competition, three pairs of duathletes per club progressively take turns to complete a double SuperSprint triathlon.

The men's races will begin at 9 a.m. in the First Division, and at 10:30 a.m. in the Second Division and Open. The women's categories will start at 12 noon. The final awards ceremony of the event will be at 12 noon.

In addition, on Saturday, May 25, Roquetas de Mar will host an event for the national circuit to promote triathlon among the youngest, the Pho3nix Kids Triathlon Series by Javier Gómez Noya.

This competition is open to categories from pre-young to children and will be held in Aquathlon format.

Currently, the women's Náutico de Narón and the men's Universidad de Alicante lead the Iberdrola and National Triathlon Club Leagues after the first days in Águilas.

Both clubs have shown outstanding performance, with Náutico de Narón taking a victory in the Copa de la Reina Iberdrola and Universidad de Alicante dominating in the Copa del Rey and the national relay championship.
