17.500 runners in the Marató de Barcelona, ​​where the test record will be sought

The test has an 49% of registered outside of Spain in the flattest edition.

The 41th edition of the Marató de Barcelona, has many professional athletes and will try to break the current circuit record since 2019 with a time of 2:07:30 achieved by Jackson Kotut.

The circuit that this year has been modified has a 20% less in total altimetry with what they have left in 176 meters of positive height difference

This year with about 17.500 registered, it has one of foreign participants and 20% of women. The participation record remains at 20.221 in 2016,

At the start we will see the winner of last year the Kenyan Anthony Maritim (2:08:08), Jackson Kotut , Laban Korir one of the favorites and Eliud Kiptanui  which is the one with the best brand (2: 05: 21)

In the female category, among the favorites are Jackline Chepngeno and the Ethiopian Aberash Fayesa. Helen Bekele Observe the record with 2: 25: 04  

The test will be held on Sunday 8 March
