2.500 triathletes at Valencia Trialtón
This weekend the capital of the Túria will be the nerve center of the elite and popular triathlon by the Spanish Federation and the Triatló Federation of the Valencian Community.
Valencia Triathlon one more year will be international headquarters hosting the Sub-23 European Triathlon Championship, European Paratriathlon Championship y European Mixed Relay Championship. With these three events the city will be the center of the international triathlon during the weekend of the 14 and 15 in September.
In both championships the Valencian Community will have athletes who will fight to get the precious continental title. In the European sub23 we will have the recent world champion in the category Roberto Sánchez. In addition, next to him will run the triathletes Javi Lluch y Romaric Forques. In females we will have the triathlete of Bétera Noelia Juan.
En the European Paratriathlon we will have to Héctor Catalá, who was proclaimed world champion of paratriathlon in his category last weekend, and also arrives in Valencia as a favorite to win his career.
With all of them in competition we can enjoy an exciting European Triathlon Championship, in which the Valencian Community has many ballots to climb to the top of the podium.
More than 2.000 popular triathletes.
In addition, the event, which is part of the Mediterranean Triathlon circuit, will continue to have its popular tests, in this edition it will have more than 2000 participants, who will run in the different distances that Valencia Triathlon offers.
Olympic (1500m swimming / 40km cycling / 10km race), Sprint (750m swimming / 20km cycling / 5km running) and Supersprint (350m swimming / 10km cycling / 2,5km running).
Acuatlón Escolar Minitriatlón
The competition will start on Friday afternoon with the School Acuatlón Minitriatlón, dwhere girls and boys between 7 and 17 years old can participate in their corresponding distances.
But the activity for the little ones will continue throughout the weekend in the Minitriatlón, an area where boys and girls of all ages can meet and enjoy our sport.
All kinds of activities related to triathlon will be carried out, while their parents collect the bibs or compete. This area is made thanks to our main collaborator, the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation.
On Saturday the Sprint Triathlon, the Paratriathlon European Championship and the Sub-23 European Championship
On Saturday morning we will have the Sprint open distance test, from noon we can enjoy the European Paratriathlon Championship, where we can see Héctor Catalá next to your guide Gustavo Rodríguez
In the afternoon it will be the turn of the European Sub-23 Championship. The first to compete will be the females, with Noelia Juan as the only Valencian representative.
From the 18 hours will come the turn of the men's competition with Roberto Sánchez, as leader of the national team. They will be with him Javi Lluch y Romaric Forques.
On Saturday the Olympic Triathlon, the supersprint and the European Mixed Relay Championship
For Sunday we have reserved the olympic triathlon and supersprint open, and to close the intense weekend of competition the different national teams will compete in the European Mixed Relay Championship Sub-23, where we hope to see again Roberto and Noelia, although we will not have the team defined until the weekend.
The circuits
All this great event will be located in the Marina of Valencia, where swimming will take place within the harbor dock, transitions can be seen in different areas of the Marina.
Cycling will cover some of the most important avenues in the city such as Avenida del Puerto and Serrería. Finally all the triathletes will run running different spaces in the Marina area on foot.
In addition, the entire popular competition can be followed by streaming on Facebook of the organization and its YouTube channel in addition to the APP of the Mediterranean Triathlon circuit. The European Championship can be seen live on LaLiga4Sports.
