Fornells, a small town with a lot to offer

The test will be held as usual in the town of Fornells, a small fishing village located in the north of the island of Menorca.

This seafaring town, which has about 1.000 inhabitants in its beginnings, was a fundamental part of the defense of the island against the incursions of pirates, thanks to its wide bay.

Fornells is the typical Mediterranean village of whitewashed houses, with brightly painted wooden doors and windows and recognized for having the best lobster stew in all of Menorca.

This area is ideal for a weekend getaway to enjoy the surroundings of the bay and its paradisiacal beaches.

The entire island of Menorca has been a Biosphere Reserve since 1993 and has 216 kilometers of coastline and more than 70 beaches.

In addition, thanks to its geological variety, it makes it a place of undoubted beauty in which wild cliffs contrast with soft sandbanks.

The circuits

The swimming segment will be held in lto the wide bay of Fornells where swimmers will be able to enjoy its calm waters during the 1.900 meters.

Then the triathletes will get on the bike and go through the 90 kilometers in a circuit closed to traffic 3 laps of 27 kilometers. This segment will be demanding with 1.275 meters of unevenness and areas with slopes up to 9%.

The foot race will be a 3-lap circuit, with 3 climbs to the Torre de Fornells, one of the emblems of the town, to complete the 21 kilometers of the route
