2 months to go until the Volcano Triathlon 2025

El Volcano Triathlon turns four decades old and continues to be a reference for those seeking a challenge in the calendar national.

The next May 3th 2025 Its 40th edition will be held in Club Santa, an iconic venue located on the island of Lanzarote. Two months before the big date, everything starts to get going.

The oldest test in Spain

Since 1984, this triathlon has attracted athletes from all over the world. Its Olympic distance format (1,5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) provides a balance between endurance and speed.

Volcano Triathlon It is known for being the oldest competition in Spain, but also for the energy experienced before, during and after the competition.

Swimming in calm waters

The swimming part takes place in the Club La Santa lagoon, with an average temperature of 19,5 °C. The use of neoprene is recommended, as it allows for extra comfort and confidence in the water.

This initial section is one of the hallmarks of the event, as it presents a safe and well-organized environment.

Cycling without drafting

The cycling route, which covers 40 km, extends towards Caleta de Caballo, Soo and Caleta de Famara, with a turn at the Famara-Teguise road.

Then, the rider returns along the same route. It is mandatory to pedal without riding on wheels, which helps the competitors to focus on their own effort and strategy.

Foot race with finish at the stadium

The running race consists of two 5km laps. Both start and finish at the Club La Santa stadium, passing along the road towards La Santa until reaching the return point.

The atmosphere inside the stadium is very special, which gives a final push to those fighting for a good record.
