20 years of the first sub8 in an Ironman

Today, 14 of July of 2016 are met 20 years of a historical date for the world triathlon, for the first time a man managed to lose 8 hours in an Ironman test.

 

The author of this feat was the German Lothar Leder who signed 7h57'02 '' in Roth's Ironman (Actual Challenge Roth)

Lothar used 49'33 '' in the 3800m of swimming, swimming at a rate of 1'18 '' every 100m. He then pedaled the 180km in 4h24'06 '' at an average of almost 41 km / h and ended up running the marathon in 2h43'23 '' at an average rate of 3'52 '' / km.

In these 20 years 34 have been the triathletes in 8 hours down a total of 52 times, the last in the last Frankfurt Ironman where the winner Sebatian Kienle marked 7h52'43 ''.

Three have been the Spaniards in the 8 hours, Eneko Llanos (2 times), Víctor del Corral e Ivan Raña.
