300 triathletes in the Castilla y León Challenge scoring for the MD and LD ranking of the FETRI

This coming Sunday, August 4, starting at 8 in the morning, the TCastilla y León Challenge riathlon in Medina de Rioseco.

This event will bring together more than 300 participants in the Middle Distance test, which is scoring for the National Medium and Long Distance Triathlon Ranking of the Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI), as well as in the short distance test.

The competition will take place in an exceptional environment. The swimming segment will take place in the Canal de Castilla, located in Medina de Rioseco.

The triathletes will then face a cycling circuit that will take them to Tamariz de Campos, on a flat route closed to traffic. Finally, the foot race will take place along the towpaths of the Canal de Castilla, guaranteeing a different landscape.

Circuits

The swimming circuit in the Canal de Castilla will consist of two laps to complete a total of 1.900 meters in the Medium Distance race and a single lap of 1.400 meters for the short distance test.

The 30 kilometer cycling circuit will start from the Campos Góticos school in Medina de Rioseco and will reach Tamariz de Campos. Medium Distance triathletes will complete three laps to reach 90 kilometers, while short distance triathletes will complete a single lap.

In the foot race, participants will travel a circuit of just over five kilometers along the banks of the Canal, with four laps for the Medium Distance (21 kilometers) and two laps for the short distance (10 kilometers).

Notable participants include Mikel Mugica, Kristian Quintans, Lucia Blancoand the brothers Alfonso y Jaime Left, all of them recognized in the national Middle Distance.

Given the forecast of high temperatures, the organization has implemented exceptional measures to guarantee the safety and well-being of the athletes.

Six shower steps will be installed on the race circuits and eight refreshment stations, ensuring adequate hydration for all participants.
