More than 3.000 athletes at the 2024 World Multisport Championships in Townsville

The city of Townsville, Australia, is preparing to welcome more than 3,000 athletes from 38 countries for the 2024 Multisport Triathlon World Championships.

It is the largest multi-sports festival the region has ever seen. For 12 days, 19 championships will be held in various disciplines, including duathlon, cross triathlon, aquatlon, long distance triathlon y aquabike.

The opening of the event took place with the emblematic Parade of Nations, which traveled through the streets of Townsville, welcoming athletes from various parts of the world.

Testing will officially begin on August 16 with the Duathlon World Championships

Two different locations

The competitions will be held in two different venues: the Jezzine Barrack*, which will host road competitions such as duathlon and aquathlon, and the Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park, intended for the cross triathlon and cross duathlon events.

"In these 12 days, Townsville will be the center of global multisport”commented Antonio Fernández Arimany, Secretary General of the World Triathlon Federation, during his speech.
