37 Spanish in the European Cup triathlon in Huelva

A total of 35 countries will participate in the event

Punta Umbría and Huelva will host the March 24 the first major international triathlon event in Spanish territory at 2019, with the dispute of the European Cup and the Ibero-American Championship, with a team of first level triathletes both nationally and internationally.

A total of 35 countries will participate in the event, whose swimming segment will take place in Punta Umbría, cycling from the Huelva town to Huelva, and the race on foot through the historic center of the capital. The participating countries are Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bermuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, El Salvador, Slovakia, Spain, United States, France, Georgia, Great Britain, Guatemala, Holland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela.

In the men's test, the young Briton Alex Yee, after his victory in the first World Cup of the year in Cape Town, along with others like the French Simon Viain, the Hungarian Mark Devay, the Dutch Marco Van der Stel, or the also British Barcley Izzard, winner last year in the European Cup of Gran Canaria.

On the Spanish side, the main trick will be the current champion of Spain in Olympic distance, Roberto Sánchez Mantecón, or the winner of the Salinas 2018 World Cup, David Castro. Jordi García, the brothers from Málaga Nacho and Alberto González, the Cordovan Camilo Puertas o Kevin Tarek Viñuela, all of them with international podiums last season, will also be present at the starting line.

In the women's event the British team stands out Sophie Coldwell, Lucy Hall, Beth Potter and India Lee. The Italian Ilaria Zane, the Ukrainian Yelistratova, the Mexican Michelle Flipo, the French Margot Garabedian, the Russian Danilova or the Swedish Lisa Norden, silver medalist in the London'12 Olympic Games, will also be in the game.

The Spanish Sara Pérez Sala will fight for the victory after her great result in the Cape Town World Cup where she finished eighth, while Xisca Tous, current champion of Spain, and Cecilia Santamaría, sub-champion of Europe sub23, will fight for the top positions. They will also be from departure Camila Alonso, Laura Gomez y Tamara Gómez.

The women's event will start on 24 Sunday in March at 9 in the morning while the men's event will start at 12: 15 PM.
