More than 4.000 thousand athletes will participate in the first Water Games

The Sport with the largest number of participants will be Triathlon, which will have approximately 1.800 athletes

More than four thousand athletes will participate in the first water games to be held in Spain.

The Sport with the largest number of participants will be Triathlon, which will have approximately 1.800 athletes, while Canoeing and Rowing will take more than 600 athletes each to their Spanish Championships.

Swimming will have 300 participants, Surfing and Fishing will attract around 200 Athletes each, Sailing and Underwater Activities 150 each, Power Boating 120 and Water Skiing approximately 50 participants.

It must be remembered that in many cases the inscriptions are still open and in others they are produced by direct classification.

In total, 18 official Spanish Championships will be played:

  • Crossing K4 and C4 (Canoeing)
  • Radio control (Sailing)
  • Wakeboarding (Water Skiing)

  • Offshore and Circuit (Motonautics)
  • SUP Long Distance (Surfing)
  • Sea Paddle (Paddle)
  • Mar Costa Duo (Fishing and Casting)
  • Kayak Fishing (Fishing and Casting)
  • Speed ​​​​SUP (Surfing)
  • Nafosub and Cevisub (Underwater Activities)

José Hidalgo, president of ADESP, has indicated that "the participation of athletes will be massive although we expect more than ten thousand people to come to the Region of Murcia during those days to witness these first Water Games in situ."

The venues where the Championships will be held will be: Cartagena, Santiago de la Ribera, Cabo de Palos, La Manga, Lo Pagán and Los Alcázares, all from September 22 to October 2.

The Water Games are the first national sporting event organized by ADESP, the Spanish Sports Association, and 10 Spanish Sports Federations: Swimming, Sailing, Canoeing, Surfing, Triathlon, Power Boating, Water Skiing, Fishing and Casting, Underwater Activities and Rowing.
