In the case of the marathon, whose distance is 42.195 meters, the fastest man to complete this distance has been Eluid Kipchoge with a time of 1:59:40. and  Kosgei Smashes  at 2:14:04

Furthermore, Kipchoge was the first man to lower than 2 hours in marathon.

He did it in the city of Vienna in 2019, on a totally flat circuit and where he was helped by a group of 41 hares as well as a car opening the circuit. This record is not considered official
